The following are six items Terry would suggest you check - or have checked - to prepare your vehicle for spring and summer driving ...
  1. Check the suspension on your car or truck. The suspension system (shocks, ball joints, etc.) on most vehicles are getting a work out from pot holes or may have been damaged this winter by ice, snow banks, etc.
  2. Check your windshield wipers for ice damage that happened during the winter. Now is when you will need the wipers to be ready for all the splashing from the melt as well as spring rains.
  3. A complete brake inspection is always a good idea.
  4. Tire wear and inflation along with improper alignment can affect fuel economy. Tire wear is the telltale sign of improper alignment. And obviously it's time to swap tires to all season from winter.
  5. Heater hoses and rad hoses. The cooling system on your vehicle is about to be worked overtime with warmer weather on the way.
  6. And lastly, for comfort reasons now is the time to check your air conditioning. A/C season is not far away and winter tends to drain the system due to shrinkage. Checking the air conditioning now will prevent frustration on that first day we get 20 plus degree Celsius temperatures.
