As part of our year end giving at West Park, we are pleased to be able to support the new baseball diamond being constructed in the north west corner of town. This is the second donation West Park has made to Access Field. Lyn Dyck is shown making the cheque presentation to Menno Friesen. To Lyn's left are Vic Loewen and Jodi Bennett; Ephraim Gertner and Michelle Wiebe are to Menno's right.

The goal of phase one was to have the field playable, and that dream should come true this spring. Phase two of the project will add a number of additional amenities.

"Phase two is going to include a scoreboard and a grand stand; we have those seats from the old Bomber stadium that we hope to get mounted," says Ken Wiebe, a key member of the committee .

The field will be used primarily by the Altona Bison's senior and junior teams but will also be made available for midget or high school games. As one example, a Provincial Championship will be hosted there during the 2015 Sunflower Festival.
